Watford FC players welcome Street Snooker
26 July, 2011
Street Snooker was brilliantly received at Watford FC's open day on Sunday July 24th 2011. It was great to see so many kids enjoying the game and queuing up in the Hertfordshire sunshine to see if they could beat Watford Captain John Eustace, who scored a 33 break before being mobbed by fans. A number of budding young strikers took up the Street Snooker target challenge, including nine year old Miles Habashi who scored a 32 break to almost beat Eustace’s score and win an engraved trophy from the day. First team Championship players John Eustace, Marvin Sordell and Watford FC Ladies player Kate Natkiel all think that Street Snooker is a great idea and say they look forward to playing again.
Local Sponsors
Street Snooker’s appearance at the open day was kindly sponsored by local business, LA BOTTEGA ITALIANA, Watford’s only Italian Deli since 1965. Shop Owner Vito Ricciardi is passionate about sport in the community and jumped at the opportunity to work alongside Playinnovation for the open day. "We had a fantastic day and it has certainly helped raise awareness of a great concept in family sports and healthy lifestyles. I would certainly get involved again".
Playinnovation would like to wish the staff and players Watford FC every success in their upcoming Championship campaign and look forward to the next community day.
