Street snooker phenomenon kicks off in Church Crookham
9 August, 2013
Families are busy getting a kick out of an innovative new wall game that uniquely combines the features of snooker and football.
Church Crookham Parish Council launched its permanent new Street Snooker game at the Peter Driver sports ground in Bourley Road last Friday (July 26).
Available for everyone to use free of charge, it involves players kicking a ball against a green wall resembling a snooker table and building breaks by hitting the red triangle followed by a colour.
Several parish councillors joined in the fun, along with Olympic Team GB handball captain Bobby White.
Aldershot Football Club’s Football in the Community Trust team were also on hand to provide training sessions for those not playing on the Street Snooker game, while free refreshments were provided by Gracewell Healthcare, who are building the new nursing home next to the sports ground.
